Women boxers to compete in world championship in Ulan-Ude

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. 11th edition of Women’s World Boxing Championship kicks off in Ulan-Ude, Russia today October,3. The tournament is being held on October 3-13, 2019. Seven Mongolian athletes led by the head coach of National Women’s Boxing team B.Purev-Ochir, coach M.Buyanjargal, L.Enkhbayar and physician E.Enkhbayar hit the road to participate the tournament.


The team consists of B.Mungunsaran, bronze medalist of the Asian championship, in 48 kg weight class, IM L.Altantsetseg in 51 kg, IM E.Michidmaa in 54 kg, T.Bolortuul, gold medalist of the Asian championship, in 57 kg, T.Namuun, bronze medalist of the Asian championship, in 60 kg, IM E.Erdenetuya in 69 kg, IM M.Mygmarjargal in 75 kg. International Boxing Association (AIBA) three-star referee G.Badrakh is participating in this tournament as well.


A total of 20 athletes in 48 kg, 22 athletes in 54 kg, 36 athletes in 57 kg and 26 athletes in 69 kg are competing in the tournament respectively.



IM N.Nandintsetseg is the first ever Mongolian to win a medal in Women’s World Boxing Championship which was held in India, 2018.
