Construction of Chinggis Khaan Museum to be completed by December 2020

On May 27, Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh visited the construction site of the Chinggis Khaan Museum. In about 2 months since its construction launch, the foundation of the building has been completed, kicking off the work for the ground floor recently. 

 

Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg, PMs J.Munkhbat and G.Temuulen accompanied the Prime Minister, becoming acquainted with the construction process. 

“Due to the current situation of the pandemic, strict cautionary measures are being implemented for the construction workers. The construction is planned to be completed in December as scheduled,” reported the officials. 

PM U.Khurelsukh expressed gratitude to the construction workers and said, “The Chinggis Khaan Museum should be a center for cultural heritage to be globally promoted, alongside being a place of pride for the people of Mongolia. The Government of Mongolia has been specifically giving attention to the development of the arts, history, and culture sectors, putting in a large amount of investment. Comprehensive development works such as renovation, repairs and extension of buildings of museums, theaters and libraries are currently taking place. Being personally involved in realizing this important objective, and the construction of the museum that will show the country’s development and the history of our great rulers is both an obligation and a deed to be proud of. From the current progress, I am confident that the museum building will be completed on time.”

The cabinet came to the decision to establish the Chinggis Khaan Museum in July 2019, and had the construction work begun from April 2, 2020.
