Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In March 2021, the International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) Central Board decided to organize FIBA U15 Skills Challenges 2021 among athletes representing 54 countries.

Mongolia’s national boys’ and girls’ teams will be participating in the tournament. While the boys’ team has been put into Pool B with teams of China, Tahiti, and Syria, the girls’ team has also been put into Pool B, facing off against teams of China, Samoa, and Iran.

Furthermore, Tugsjargal Sambuu has been appointed as the FIBA representative in charge of organizing and monitoring the tournament. It is the second time for him to be appointed as a FIBA representative.

He is the first ever Mongolian to be appointed as a FIBA representative. In the FIBA U17 Skill Challenges 2020 tournament in which he was appointed for the first time, our national men’s team became the champion.
