Mongolia to Host Dota 2 Tournament with a Prize Pool of USD 100,000
SportsUlaanbaatar, December 3, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian Esports Association (MESA) will host an offline “MESA Invitational 2024” Dota 2 tournament with a prize pool of USD 100,000 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, on December 10-15, 2024.
Eight teams from Asia and Europe (4 from Europe and 4 from Asia) will compete at the "Asa Arena" complex in Ulaanbaatar. Notable teams include the top-tier "Team Secret" led by Clement "Puppey" Ivanov, "Aurora Gaming" captained by Anucha "Jabz" Jiravong, "Talon Esports" with Carlo "Kuku" Palad at the helm, and the "The MongolZ" with a new lineup.
Tournament Format:
-Group Stage (December 10 – December 12, 2024):
- There will be two groups, each comprising four teams.
- All matches will follow a best-of-two (Bo2) format.
- The top team from each group will advance directly to the semifinals.
- Second- and third-place teams from each group will move on to the quarterfinals.
- The remaining teams will be eliminated.
-Knockout Stage (December 14-15, 2024):
- Quarterfinals: Best-of-three matches (Bo3)
- Semifinals: Best-of-three matches (Bo3)
- Grand Final: Best-of-five matches (Bo5)
This is Mongolia's first-ever international Dota 2 tournament. The first-place winner will receive a grand prize of USD 50,000. The runner-up will take home USD 25,000, while the third- and fourth-place teams will each earn USD 12,500.
