Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation to Support "Billion Trees" National Movement

The “Billion Trees National Movement” NGO, aimed at supporting and intensifying the “Billion Trees" National Movement initiated by the President of Mongolia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel on December 17, 2024. The two sides agreed to improve the green spaces of cities and towns, increase forest reserves, stimulate tree planting activities, and contribute to reducing desertification and mitigating climate change.
Under the Memorandum, the parties will begin planting trees in the Ulaanbaatar city area in the spring of 2025, contributing to reducing air and soil pollution in the city. This organization (MASHAV) was established in 1958 to provide humanitarian assistance and technical support to countries. MASHAV is actively working towards resolving global challenges, overcoming the difficulties countries face in achieving sustainable development goals and reducing poverty.
