Mongolia and Russia to Deepen Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation

Ulaanbaatar, July 31, 2025 /MONTSAME/. During the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Geneva, Switzerland, Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Amarbaysgalan Dashzegve held an official meeting with Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, reported the Media and Public Relations Department of the State Great Khural.

 

At the outset of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further deepening trade, economic, and education cooperation, grounded in the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

 

Chairwoman Ivanovna Matviyenko highlighted that on February 26, 2025, the Government of the Russian Federation amended its resolution regarding the ban on automotive gasoline exports. Under the amendment, a complete ban will take effect for one month beginning August 1, 2025. However, she assured that Mongolia is exempt from this restriction and the export of energy and fuel products to Mongolia will continue without interruption.

 

Speaker Amarbaysgalan expressed satisfaction with the active collaboration between the legislative bodies of the two countries, noting their significant role in advancing bilateral relations. The Speaker emphasized that the State Great Khural is actively working to improve and establish a comprehensive legal framework for the development of multifaceted relations across a wide range of social sectors between Mongolia and the Russian Federation. Chairman of the State Great Khural Amarbaysgalan also expressed his commitment to further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation in the years ahead.
