Development Trends for Next 50 Years and Future Policy Directions Discussed

2025 /MONTSAME/. Member of the State Great Khural (Parliament) and
Government of Mongolia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh
participated in the “Helsinki+50: Respecting the Legacy, Preparing for the
Future” international conference at the invitation of Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Republic of Finland Elina Maria Valtonen on July 30-31, 2025, in
Helsinki.
According to the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the high-level conference was organized in
commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the “Helsinki
Final Act,” which laid the foundation for the Organization for Security and
Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Delegations evaluated the progress and
milestones achieved in regional security and cooperation in the past half-century,
and discussed development trends, challenges, opportunities, future policy
directions, and possible courses of action for the next 50 years.
Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh participated in the “How to Strengthen
Respect for the Foundational Principles of European Security?” panel discussion
and delivered a speech on Mongolia’s foreign policies and initiatives aimed at
fostering regional peace and security, as well as the country’s contributions
to deepening cooperation within the OSCE’s dimensions.
Mongolia became a member of the OSCE in 2012. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the largest regional security body addressing security issues, uniting 57 countries from Europe, Central Asia, and North America.
