Society
Ulaanbaatar, August 8,
2025 /MONTSAME/. The feasibility study and an expert review for the Sludge Processing
Plant project have been completed, with the next stages of the project under
preparation.
As part of the 24
megaprojects aimed at developing Ulaanbaatar city, the sludge incineration and
energy generation project is planned to be implemented in the Khoroo No. 20 of
Songinokhairkhan district.
The facility will have
the capacity to process an average of 250 cubic meters of sludge per day and
incinerate up to 238 tons of sludge. It is expected to recycle approximately
843,200 cubic meters of sludge annually, with emissions generated during the
incineration process, such as smoke and gas, planned to be filtered through a
high-tech air purification system. In addition to sludge processing and
disposal, the project is significant in its contributions to reducing soil and
water pollution, eliminating unpleasant odor sources, energy generation, and waste
recycling.
The total area of the
project site is approximately 40,000 square meters. The sludge incineration
plant is planned to be constructed in front of the Ulaanbaatar Central Wastewater
Treatment Facility.
