The Mongolian Tourism Association (MTA) has organized an international four-day ultramarathon tour under the project “EmpowHer Mongolia — Breaking Boundaries, aimed at promoting Mongolia globally and supporting the extension of the “Years to Visit Mongolia” campaign until 2028.

The event was successfully held from August 25 to September 1, with more than 20 participants from the Republic of Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, the Swiss Confederation, New Zealand, and Mongolia. Among them, seven women runners completed the four-day course through Burd, Kharkhorin, Orkhon Valley, Bat-Ulzii, and Khujirt soums of Uvurkhangai aimag. The tour was designed to elevate recognition of women athletes, foster cultural exchange, and showcase Mongolia’s nomadic heritage and unique natural landscapes to the world.

The project was jointly implemented by the MTA, the Federal Republic of Germany’s 'ARCHIS Business GmbH', and ‘Falke Ergonomic Sport Systems’. Organizers noted that participants shared their impressions and experiences of Mongolia through social media and international media outlets, contributing to a positive global image of the country’s tourism.

As emphasized, the project forms an important part of Mongolia’s tourism promotion policy and is expected to help increase tourist flows from Western Europe in the coming years.
