NTORC to Cooperate with University of ‘Tsukuba’

Ulaanbaatar, October 7, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Director General of the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center of Mongolia (NTORC), E. Galbadrakh, and the Director of the R&D Center for Lifestyle Innovation at the University of “Tsukuba,” Hisashi Yoshimoto, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.


The Memorandum aims to expand long- and short-term training and on-the-job practice programs to train and build the capacity of medical professionals.


The cooperation seeks to strengthen mutual exchange, enhance clinical and academic capacity, and promote sustainable development in injury prevention. The parties will cooperate in the following areas:

  • Implementing joint research projects within areas of mutual interest;
  • Carrying out programs and projects aimed at preventing injuries and accidents in selected aimags and districts;
  • Organizing short-, medium-, and long-term training programs, including on-the-job training, to improve academic research skills;
  • Exploring and developing opportunities for clinical training based on mutual agreement.

The signing ceremony was attended from the Japanese side by Head of the Department of International Public Health and Director of the Doctoral Program in Public Health of the University of “Tsukuba” Masao Ichikawa and researcher Dr. G. Gerelmaa, while from the Mongolian side Deputy Directors of the NTORC L. Dagvadorj, in charge of clinical services, and B. Batzorig, in charge of operations, along with division heads and specialists of the Department of Statistical Surveillance and Research, participated.


Since 2016, the Department of Public Health of the University of “Tsukuba” and the NTORC have been jointly conducting research on the causes and distribution of injuries, identifying risk factors, publishing findings in international journals, and implementing evidence-based preventive interventions.
