Eighth Support Pillar of Ulaanbaatar Cable Car Project Installed

October 22, 2025, /MONTSAME/. A cable car project in the Yarmag-Kharkhorin
direction is underway to reduce traffic congestion in the western and southern
areas of the Capital city.
According
to the Capital City Governor’s Office, the construction work of the project
began in March 2025 and is planned to be completed in October 2026. Upon completion,
the project is expected to serve up to 18 percent of the total traffic flow in
this direction.
The
first line of the Ulaanbaatar Cable Car project will be built along the Yarmag-Artsat-Unur
direction, and the second line will be built along the National Park-National
Amusement Park route. Construction of the first line is progressing according
to plan. Installation of support pillars and construction of the stations are
underway in this direction. Currently, the 10th pillar has been installed.
Therefore, eight pillars have been installed out of the total of 19 pillars.
The concrete
pouring work is scheduled to be completed by October 30, 2025, and once the foundation
reaches the required 28-day curing strength, the metal structure will be
installed in two days. Moreover, the foundation work is 75 percent complete,
and the installation of the support tower is expected to be completed by
November 2025.
Plumbing, heating, ventilation, and interior decoration works, as well as communication and alarm system installation for the reception buildings, are planned to commence in January 2026.
