Burte Chono 2025 Award Nominees

Ulaanbaatar, December 3, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian National Olympic Committee will organize the Burte Chono 2025 annual sports awards ceremony on December 10, 2025, at the Chinggis Khaan Hotel.

 

The festival will announce the best male and female athletes, team, Paralympic athlete, sports federation, coach, referee, sports journalist, hall, council, sponsor, and distinguished contributor of the year. In addition, the “Burte Chono Highlight of the Year” award will be presented.

 

Traditionally, the best male athlete, best female athlete, and best team are selected based on votes from member sports journalists of the Mongolian Sports Press Association. For this year’s Burte Chono, 11 men and 12 women athletes, and four teams have been nominated. The official list of nominees has been announced. Here are the nominees:

 

Nominees for Best Male Athlete of 2025:

1. Achbadrakh Batmunkh /cross-country skiing/ – Qualified for the “Milan-Cortina 2026” Olympics; bronze medalist at the Asian Cup in roller skiing

2. Ariunbat Altanzul /alpine skiing/ – Qualified for the “Milan-Cortina 2026” Olympics

3. Battulga Aldarkhishig /boxing/ – World Championship silver medalist

4. Ganbayar Ganbold /football/ – 8th place in the Slovak Premier League 2024-2025 season (20 matches, 3 goals, 3 assists)

5. Ganzorig Bat-Erdene /traditional archery/ – World Championship gold medalist

6. Yolk Kazirbyek /judo/ – World Championship bronze medalist

7. Murun Purevdorj /motorsport/ – Completed the “Dakar 2025” rally

8. Sumya Lkhagvasuren /sambo/ – World Championship gold medalist

9. Tulga Tumur-Ochir /freestyle wrestling/ – World Championship silver medalist

10. Khangal Tamiraa /volleyball/ – Champion of the Thailand League, Best Attacker, and Top 8 at the Asian Champions League

11. Enkhtuvshin Damdindorj /artistic gymnastics/ – 8th place in vault at the World Cup series

 

Nominees for Best Female Athlete of 2025:

1. Altjin Togtokh /freestyle wrestling/ – World Championship bronze medalist

2. Altantsetseg Lutsaikhan /boxing/ – World Championship bronze medalist

3. Ariuntungalag Enkhbayar /cross-country skiing/ – Qualified for the “Milan-Cortina 2026” Olympics; Asian Cup silver and bronze medalist in roller skiing

4. Gankhaich Bold /judo/ – World Championship bronze medalist

5. Gan-Orkhon Ganbat /billiards/ – Asian Championship gold medalist (Heyball)

6. Mongoljin Ganbaatar /jiu-jitsu/ – No-Gi World Championship silver; Gi World Championship bronze (black/brown belt); East Asian Championship gold medalist

7. Munguntuul Batkhuyag /chess/ – 3rd place at the World Grand Prix

8. Mungunzul Bat-Erdene /chess/ – Asian Championship silver medalist; gold medalist at the National Festival of All People and the National Championship

9. Narantuya Bayarsaikhan /billiards/ – Asian Championship gold medalist (Snooker)

10. Orkhon Purevdorj /freestyle wrestling/ – World Championship bronze medalist

11. Khishigsaikhan Galbadrakh /athletics/ – 25th place in marathon at the World Championships; Asian Championship bronze medalist

12. Enkhjin Tuvshinjargal /freestyle wrestling/ – World Championship bronze medalist

 

Nominees for Best Team of 2025: 

1. Women’s national 3x3 team /basketball/ – World Championship silver medalist

2. “SP Falcons” /football/ – Premier League champion; qualified for the AFC Challenge League

3. Xac Broncos (Khasyn Khuleguud) /basketball/ – Premier League champion; East Zone champion in the Asian Champions League; Asian Champions League bronze medalist

4. Women’s national basketball team – 4th place in Division B of the Asian Championship
