Yesunbulag, April 24, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Dashbazar R., a resident of Yesunbulag soum in Gobi-Altai aimag, runs a household business producing rawhide and leather goods together with his two sons.

With their traditional craft skills, they process leather and hides to produce high-quality rawhide goods such as horse bridles, halters, lassos, whips, saddles, and saddle accessories and supply to the market. Each year, they process 500–700 cattle hides using traditional methods.

They established “Bazgai Khukh Erchis” LLC in 2023, expanding their leather processing operations, training young people, and creating 3–5 seasonal jobs. That same year, Dashbazar received a small and medium enterprise development fund loan, built a new production facility, and expanded operations.

In addition to supplying the domestic market with their “Khantaishir” branded product sets, they export to China, contributing to both the local and national economy. Using processed hide, they produce a full range of traditional horse gear, including lassos, bridles, halters, hobbles, whips, girths, and straps.

Two years ago, together with his sons, Dashbazar introduced the “Khantaishir” set—designed as a traditional Mongolian horse gear set for every household—and established it as a local brand.

Due to high demand, their workload has increased. Dashbazar emphasized that having traditional rawhide products in every household can help younger generations preserve nomadic heritage and livestock traditions, while also adding value to raw materials.
