据蒙通社报道，据2017年因蒙古国受国内投资额的影响，金融账户顺差达24亿美元。 但，流动资产账户损失达9.071亿美元。在2013至2016年间以外贷款和外汇储备来弥补流动账户损失，而2017年以预期完成量融资直接投资流动。
蒙古国中央银行公布，截至去年第三季度，蒙古国外国直接投资流动量达7.02亿美元。其中，从加拿大引入的2.85亿美元和卢森堡1.55亿美元的直接投资已被登记。按行业区分，直接投资流入的79％来自于采矿业。
