Bill on auto transportation to be formulated
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At its meeting on Monday, the cabinet discussed and then backed a draft concept of the law on auto transportation.
The Minister of Road and Transportation M.Zorigt was told to work out the bill and to submit it to the cabinet in near future.
Since its first adoption in 1999, the law on auto transportation has been amended 15 times, therefore the law’s articles and clauses have lost their logical order and coherence. The new law on auto transportation has become vital because of needs of door-to-door auto service as the country has a vast territory and less developed infrastructure.
According to the 2014 statistics on transportation performance, 98.8% of total passengers and 64% of total freight were carried by the auto transport.
