MFA holds “Media hour” meeting
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Director of the Policy, Planning and Regulation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs G.Amartuvshin gave a report at the “Media hour” meeting on Tuesday.
He highlighted the President’s visit to China, the FM's visit to Italy and his participation in the Foreign Ministers’ meeting of ASEM in Luxembourg. He also said the President of Mongolia is to start an official visit to France on Wednesday, and added that misleading information has been spread by some media outlets about a postponing of this visit. "All scheduled measures have not been canceled due the terrorist attacks in Paris, moreover, the international community has urged countries to combat terrorism together," he noted.
He went on that the Mongolian leader will also take part in the COP21 Climate Summit in Paris, which is supposed to gather governmental and state leaders of some 120 countries. Regarding the forthcoming 11th ASEM Summit, the Department head underlined an importance of ensuring security for the ASEM Summit that will attract high level representatives of some 50 countries.
He also said the Ministry is to resume visa regime for citizens of 42 countries from January 1 of 2016. These countries were enjoying a visa-free travel up to 30 days to Mongolia since June of 2014.
