Two FMs run official talks

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Purevsuren paid a working visit to Switzerland on November 26.

He held official talks with Mr Didier Burkhalter, the Foreign Minister of this country. Purevsuren said he is satisfied with a successful development of the bilateral relations and cooperation in politics, developmental collaboration, culture and humanitarian spheres, and underlined that Mongolia, who attaches an importance to the ties and cooperation with Switzerland, wants to deepen the political talks at all levels, to continue the collaboration in developmental assistance, and to expand the cooperation in economy, trade, investment, tourism, agriculture, education and other fields.

He also thanked the Swiss side for holding a consultative meeting this November 16-17 in Bern to share its experiences in maintaining the permanent policy on neutrality. Affirming an aspiration of Mongolia to enhance the bilateral cooperation within the UN and other international organizations,  Purevsuren expressed a gratitude to Switzerland for backing Mongolia in the election of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

In response, the Swiss FM Didier Burkhalter said he is satisfied with a development of the Mongolia-Switzerland relations and cooperation, and pointed out that the countries can widen the cooperation in many spheres and directions. He congratulated Mongolia on many achievements in democracy and on the 25th anniversary of the first democratic elections of Mongolia. He said Switzerland supports the permanent neutrality policy of Mongolia.
