Judokas to compete in Paris Grand Slam and European series

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A national team of Mongolia with 20 judokas headed Wednesday to France to take part in the 2016 Paris Grand Slam tournament, which will kick off February 6 in the Accorhotels Arena.

After the Paris Grand Slam, these judokas together with two additional athletes will compete in European series to be held in Oberwart of Austria, Italy’s Rome and Germany’s Dusseldorf.

By the end of 2015, 12 judokas of our national team satisfied conditions to win Olympic quotas. The Mongolian Judo Federation aims to grab the Olympic quotas in the men and women’s all weight categories.

Currently, the 2013 World champion M.Urantsetseg (women’s 48kg) and the 2015 bronze medalist of the World Championship (women’s 57kg) D.Sumya are topping the world rankings of the International Judo Federation.
