Birth rate declines
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In first one month of this year, 6,275 mothers gave birth nationwide, and the number of live births reached 6,304.
The number of mothers gave births decreased by 393 or 5.9%, and the number of live births--by 417 or 6.2% in the period against the previous year.
At a national level, the infant mortality reached 121 in first one month of this year, increasing by three or 2.5% against the previous year, and the mortality of children aged up to 5 years old reached 140, declining by one or 0.7%.
The infant mortality per 1,000 live births reached 19 in first one month of 2016, increasing by one, and the mortality of children aged up to 5 years old per 1,000 live births reached 22, increasing by one against the previous year.
