Mongolian Football Association president votes FIFA election

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The president of the Mongolian Football Association (MFA) Mr A.Ganbaatar gave his vote to the election of the new president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) held last Friday during the 2016 FIFA Extraordinary Congress in Zurich, Switzerland.

As results of the election, an Italian/Swiss citizen Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino has become the new president of the FIFA, replacing the previous president Sepp Blatter.

The 45-year-old UEFA general secretary, a lawyer and sports administrator who joined European football's governing body in 2000 and rose through the ranks, became FIFA's first new president in 18 years.

During the congress, the MFA president Mr Ganbaatar met with his counterparts of Brazil, Hungary, Germany, Japan and South Korea. With the Germany’s delegation, he talked about inviting a coach from the national team of Germany to Mongolia. Issues were discussed with the Japanese and South Korean delegates about coaching women’s team of Mongolia and developing football in localities. Moreover, a former midfielder of the South Korean national team and the Manchester United FC Park Ji-sung has promised to visit Mongolia in August of this year.

Following the congress, the representatives of all member countries visited the FIFA Museum.
