Winter Youth Olympic gold medalist to receive cash prize
SportsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The government of Mongolia has decided to give cash prizes to B.Sumiya, a gold medalist of the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics and her coach D.Enkhbayar.
Confirmation certificates on cash prizes were granted on Monday by Ts.Oyunbaatar, Acting Minister of Health and Sport; and S.Lambaa, the State Secretary of the Ministry, during an opening ceremony of the 14th Sports Games of Mongolia.
The gold medalist B.Sumiya is expected to receive a cash of 40 million Togrog; and her coach--20 million Togrog.
B.Sumiya claimed a gold medal in the mixed team sprint event of speed-skating at the 2016 Youth Winter Olympic Games in Lillehammer of Norway, becoming the first Mongolian to win a medal at any Olympic Winter Games.
