Mongolian ger presented to ANU

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony took place on Thursday to present a Mongolian ger (national dwelling) from the President of Mongolia to the Australian National University (ANU), in Canberra.

During the presentation ceremony, the State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr D.Gankhuyag underlined the state of Mongolia has been focusing attention to developing Mongol studies around the world, and expressed thanked to the ANU for contributing to Mongol studies.

The ANU rector and Nobel Prize laureate Brian Schmidt said he is satisfied with having a Mongolian ger, and pointed out he will use this ger for ceremonial and official events.

The State Secretary granted a Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle) to the university as a gift from the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
