Ts.Elbegdorj receives Pietro Grasso
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the sidelines of his visit here to attend the Ninth Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting, Mr Pietro Grasso, the President of the Senate of the Republic of Italy, paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj on April 21.
The President wished him a pleasant stay in Mongolia. President Ts.Elbegdorj also expressed gratitude to Italy for its support for Mongolia on the international arena as a member of the European Union.
Mongolia-Italy ties are very strong, said Mr Grasso and expressed his gratitude for the mutual support in the UN scope.
President Ts.Elbegdorj said he was gald to be receiving Mr Pietro Grasso, who had the previous ASEP organized in Milan.
“I think highly of Your contribution in combating corruption. I have worked against corruption for the course of 43 years as a judge. I still continue my battle against it. A bill has been submitted to Parliament against money laundering, financial report and balancesheet counterfeiting. Organizing ASEM Summit and the ASEP is of great importance in connecting Asia and Europe, as well as in better understanding between Mongolia and Italy”, said Mr Grasso.
The latter also offered ways of cooperation in culture and education during his meeting with the FM of Mongolia, such as exchanging museum artifacts and publicizing the archaeological findings. Training of Mongolian opera singers in Italy has been agreed by the both ministries of culture. Italy wants an opportunity of visa-free entry of Italian tourists to Mongolia, he said.
“I am in agreement with You on the issues of strengthening bilateral relations. We are expecting the Italian Prime Minister to participate in the ASEM Summit, said the President. He also conveyed warm greetings to the President of Italy Mr Sergio Mattarella and wished Mr Grasso to visit Mongolia again.
