Champion Tuvshinbayar to compete in Olympics third time

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian Judo Federation (MJF) Wednesday announced names of judokas who will take part in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Summer Olympic Games

A decision of the latest selection of judokas has been made after results of two-time meetings of the MJF’s steering committee and coaches. A Hero of Labor and Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar has been selected the chair of the squad of the judokas. In the previous Games in 2008 and 2012, he won gold and silver medals. 

State Honored Sportswoman and World champion M.Urantsetseg has been included in the women’s team to compete in the lightest (-48kg) weight. Ts.Tsogtbaatar, 20, has been included in the men’s team in the -60kg.

The squad for the 2016 Olympics has D.Tomorkhuleg (men’s -66kg), G.Odbayar (73kg), O.Uuganbaatar (81kg), L.Otgonbaatar (91kg), A.Tsolmon (women’s 52kg), D.Sumiya (57kg), Ts.Monkhzaya (63kg) and Ts.Naranjargal (-70kg).

Mongolia has not gained Olympic quotas in the men and women’s heaviest divisions yet. B.Temuulen (men’s +100kg) and O.Javzmaa (women’s +78kg) are the most promising ones to get qualified as such at the forthcoming three tournaments.
