MPP claims 28 seats as preliminary results

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Out of the total 76, 33 constituencies have wrapped up their polling results for the parliamentary elections as of 12.30 am, June 30.

According to the preliminary results, the opposition - Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) has officially claimed 28 seats in the State Great Khural (Parliament), while the incumbent ruling Democratic Party secured three seats and the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) – one seat. Also only one independent candidate won a seat in the legislature.

Reporting the results from remote polling stations are delayig due to network malfunctions for weather conditions in western and northwestern regions, said Ch.Sodnomtseren, director of the General Election Committee.

It is expected that the results from the remote stations will be delivered around 4.00-5.00 am, June 30. The General Election Committee scheduled reporting summed up outcomes of voting at 09.00 a.m.
