Military parade takes place on Nat’l Day of State Flag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President and Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces Ts.Elbegdorj opened the annual military parade which took place on Sunday on the National Day of State Flag on the Square of Chinggis Khaan on the eve of the Naadam Grand Festival.

Four flags were raised on the center of the square. Three of them are previously used in 1911, 1940 and 1945, and one of them is the present flag. In a symbolic way, these flags are pointed to the Headquarters of United Nations, the North and South Poles, the peak of Mount Everest and the space.

Commanded by Major-General R.Sukhbat, deputy head of the General Headquarters of the Mongolian Armed Forces (GHMAF) and chair of the Military District of Ulaanbaatar, the parade was attended by some 2,000 servicemen of the Mongolian Armed Forces, police, emergency, frontier and court decision implementation services. It was auditioned by M.Enkhbold, the Speaker of parliament; J.Erdenebat, the Prime Minister; parliamentarians, Ministers and civil representatives. The parade also attracted defense and military attaches of the diplomatic missions in Mongolia, authorities and officials from the Defense Ministry, the GHMAF and the capital city.

The National Day of State Flag has been celebrated on the eve of the Naadam Grand Festival since 2008.
