Railway transport revenue increases against 2015
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first half of 2016, 16.2 million tons of freight and 133.7 million passengers (double counting) were carried by all types of transport. The volumen of the freight decreased by 0.4 million tons or 2.2 percent, and the number of carried passengers -- by 23.8 million or 15.1 percent compared with the end of June of 2015.
In the first half of this year, 9156.5 thousand tons of freight and 1293.4 thousand passengers (double counting) were carried by railway. Compared with same period of last year, the amount of carried freight increased by 197.5 thousand tons or 2.2 percent and the number of carried passengers decreased by 134.6 thousand or 9.4 percent.
Revenue from the railway transport in the first half of 2016 reached MNT 193.2 billion, reflecting increase of MNT 15.1 billion or 8.5 percent compared with the same period of last year.
In the same reporting period, air transport carried 1428.5 tons of freight and 284.3 thousand passengers (double counting). The total size of carried freight increased by 113.2 tons or 8.6 percent and the number of carried passengers increased by 7.6 thousand or 2.8 percent compared with the same period of 2015. The revenue from the air transport in the first half of 2016, reached MNT 111.5 billion which increased by MNT 2.9 billion or 2.7 percent compared with the end of June, 2015.
