Speaker Geoff Regan arrives
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Geoff Regan, the Speaker of the House of Commons (lower house) of the Canadian Parliament, arrived Thursday morning to pay an official visit here.
At the “Chinggis Khaan” international airport, the Canadian delegation was welcomed by D.Khayankhyarvaa MP, head of the Mongolian People’s Party’s (MPP) faction at the State Great Khural; Ts.Tsolmon MP, the secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office; R.Altangerel, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Canada; Eelco Hendrik Jager, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia; and other officials.
In frames of the visit, the Canadian Speaker will pay a courtesy call on the President Elbegdorj. Then he will receive the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and members of the Mongolia-Canada inter-parliamentary group. In addition, the delegation will get familiar with projects being implemented by the Canadian Foundation, and will leg the “Narny khuukhduud” kindergarten in Songinokhairkhan district.
