Country singer O.Enkh-Erdene wins Mongolia’s Got Talent, receives 100 Million Togrog

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Finale of the 2016 Mongolia’s Got Talent, the second ever in Mongolia, took place on Sunday. A country singer and “cover master”, O.Enkh-Erdene championed the final eight with most votes.

He became the winner of the MNT 100 million cash prize. First runner-up was a dancer and graphic designer B.Shijirbat (Canion Shijirbat), whose dance performance on MGT has been watched over a hundred million times on Youtube. His video is the most watched video in the history of Mongolian youtubers.

One of the judges B.Chuluunbaatar or Chuka, famous bass guitarist from the Haranga rock band, emphasized several times that O.Enkh-Erdene’s voice is “golden”. Another judge “Rokit Bay” O.Bayarsaikhan entrusted him to become a globally recognized singer.

Along with the best two, modern dancer E.Uugan-Erdene, opera singer B.Khishigbat, comedian T.Ganburged, singer P.Bayarmagnai, traditional ballad group “Altai” and ukulele player and singer B.Ikhersuvd had made it to the finale.

The second series by Mongolia of the Got Talent international franchise auditioned over 2,000 contestants coming from every corner of Mongolia.

The show is not running next year, reportedly due to the expiration of permission for the Mongol HD TV by SYCOtv Company, which created the Got Talent format, according to unofficial sources.
