Bayartsetseg “Bela” heightens threshold to next Miss World Mongolia candidates
Art & CultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian contestant in this year’s Miss World A.Bayartsetseg received the People’s Choice Award and got into the Top 11 on the finale, took place in the evening of December 18, Washington D.C. time.
Her journey to the Miss World was preceded by the Miss Mongolia beauty contest, which she championed, and Miss Earth 2015 and Miss Universe 2014.
In Miss World 2016, A.Bayartsetseg has shown a marvelous success, having won the “Best Video Introduction” nomination and become the Miss Talent with her movie-like introduction inspired by her role in the forthcoming Mongolian film “Khutulun - The Brave Princess” and a magic performance combining calligraphy, dance and magic tricks.
The humanitarian project, which she has initiated and co-organized, came in the 13th place in the Beauty With a Purpose. The ongoing project aims at helping children from the state orphanages to learn basic life skills such as cooking, managing own finances and running errands in general. These are some crucially important and necessary skills that are “often taken for granted”, but always lacks in orphans, who were raised in orphanages, said A.Bayartsetseg.
The Pageant Community expected A.Bayartsetseg to be included in the Top 20, in specific, to possess at the 16th place. She exceeded their expectations and was considered for the Blue Crown.
This is the best ever performance in the history of Mongolia in the Miss World. Before her, Mongolia saw its first semi-finalist in 2011 – a Miss World Mongolia A.Sarnai.
Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico won the blue crown and became Miss World, followed by Miss Dominican Republic and Miss Indonesia.
