Consular issues discussed at Mongolian-South Korean Foreign Ministries' meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The ninth consular consultative meeting between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea took place on April 24, in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting was chaired by Director of the Consular Department of the Mongolian Foreign Ministry Ya.Ariunbold from the Mongolian side and Ambassador for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Han Dong-man from the South Korean side.
During the consular meeting, the sides exchanged views on the development of consular relations, increasing the number of contract workers and challenges faced by the citizens of each country and agreed to take certain measures regarding some matters. Moreover, the Mongolian and South Korean delegates talked about broadening the scope of multiple-entry visa for nationals of Mongolia and South Korea in order to facilitate travel conditions step by step and reducing illegal stay or overstaying visa through increasing the number of people to legally reside. The South Korean side brought forward a proposal to issue 1-3 year visa to investors, exemption of recruitment fee and fulfillment of social insurance agreement.
The consular meeting was attended by representatives of Mongolia's Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, The State General Prosecutor's Office, General Immigration Agency, General Authority for Border Protection, General Police Department and Social Insurance General Office. The meeting was productive to strengthen bilateral ties and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
