National Language and Script Day unfolds "Literary Geniuses” exhibition

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ By the order of the President of Mongolia, National Language and Script Day takes place within the first week of May. This year, the National Language and Script Day is being celebrated under the slogan “National Script: Guarantee of Independence”.
Within the framework, a series of exhibitions displaying literary culture and xylography traditions of the Mongolian people, research conferences on Mongolian literature, events promoting the literary works and calligraphies of famous Mongolian scholars of all generations and meetings between authors and readers are taking place.
Regarding the celebration, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports J.Batsuuri said “A whole country giving importance to the President’s order, celebrating the National Language and Script Day and organizing contests on traditional Mongolian scripts is congratulatory. We’re putting foremost effort in creating unified dictionary, online vocabulary database and developing online linguistics. And by 2025, we’ll be having mixed language of Cyrillic and Traditional Mongolian Scripts. Therefore, the Ministries and related organizations need to cooperate in order to promote the usage of Traditional Mongolian Scripts”.
