Prime Minister presents plans for construction, urban and road transport development

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During the Parliament’s plenary session on May 5, Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat discussed the current issues of construction, urban and road transportation development.
According to PM J.Erdenebat, issues regarding the redraft of the policy on construction and construction material industry, development of construction material production and its exports are currently being considered. Also, a funding of the establishment of a whole sale supply network of construction materials in Zamiin-uud free trade zone, “Nalaikh” construction material industry and general plans of Baganuur Industrial Park have been settled and is now preparing the blueprints. With previous programs and investments, cement producing companies have started supplying 100 percent of the domestic needs since the first quarter of 2017 and is ready to export.
On the urban development plans, PM J.Erdenebat remarked "Buyant Ukhaa 2, an apartment complex for 972 households started its operation in April 2017. And the preparation works for Buyant ukhaa2-2, Buyant Ukhaa 3, Eco Yarmag” and 7th district projects are in progress. These projects are capable of providing accommodation for 8717 households. As of March 2017, a total of 1028 people have applied for mortgage loans, increasing the number of loaners to 90.4 thousand and 77.8 percent of them are mortgage borrowers.
Moreover, the Rental Apartment program will cover the period from 2015 to 2021 to create 16 thousand rental apartments in the capital and 4 thousand in aimags. The program plans to build new apartments for 12160 households and maintain sanitary standards for the apartments of 7840 households. Rental prices are planned to be set at 25 percent of the average household income.

As for road transportation development plans, a total of 1412.77 km long paved roads in 21 routes, 639.6 km long reinforced concrete roads in 3 locations, floating bridge and road maintenance works are planned for construction with a total budget of MNT 539.06 billion, which consists of MNT 5.29 billion from the state budget, MNT 23.84 billion from the Development Bank and MNT 509.93 billion from foreign loans and aid.
