Presidential candidates to be announced by May 17

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Political parties’ candidates for June 26 Presidential election will be announced nationwide by May 17, reported General Election Commission.
There are three political parties with seats in Parliament and eligible to nominate a presidential candidate which are ruling Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) and Democratic Party (DP).
In compliance with relevant laws and regulations, the parties have announced their candidates - Chairman of MPP M.Enkhbold, Chairman of MPRP N.Enkhbayar and Kh.Battulga representing DP.
After scrutinizing the documents of the presidential nominees, General Election Commission will decide on whether to approve the candidates or not; if General Election Commission has objections to candidate nomination by a party, the party can nominate a different candidate.
