Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ National Forum on Innovation was held on May 10 at the State House. The event is a part of Mongolian Innovation Week-2017, which is being been organized by The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ulaanbaatar City Department of Industry and Innovation, Mongolian Foundation for Science and Technology and the Mongolia University of Science and Technology on May 8 to 14.
Over 900 delegates from government, NGO, business, science and education sectors attended the forum, discussing policy and strategy to develop innovation, cooperation possibilities and directions among stakeholders of innovation activities.
The week aims to promote knowledge economy by way of spreading knowledge about innovation in all areas of society and economy of Mongolia and engraining creative mindset and innovation culture and to give impetus to the full realization of goals to become an industrialized country from a consumer economy by widening innovation partnerships. The innovation week has a broad participation, involving universities, academic and business organizations, manufacturers, public and private sectors, non-government organizations and professional associations.
In the scope of the innovation week, an open innovation exhibition was held on Sukhbaatar square, where over 50 entities, such as universities and scientific institutions displayed their innovative works and new technologies and products. Today, International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development - 2017 (ICIED) International conference on innovation and entrepreneurship development opened at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
