Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An intergovernmental agreement between Mongolia and the Republic of Poland on international auto transportation cooperation will be established in the near future to regulate transportation relations between the two countries more properly and to create favorable facilitated conditions for travelling.

Minister of Road and Transport Development D.Ganbat and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Construction of Poland Jerzy Schmidt agreed on it, when they held a meeting during the International Transport Forum’s 2017 Summit in Germany. They talked about bilateral cooperation in the transportation sector between the two countries and pending issues to be resolved jointly and also agreed to conduct transports under temporary regulations until the establishment of the agreement.

The two countries have been developing a close friendly relationship in all socio-economic sectors since the socialist system era and contribution of the transportation sector is significant for widening and strengthening the economic cooperation, underlined Minister D.Ganbat. The Minister requested to support Mongolia in training railway specialists in Poland and sharing experiences to introduce European norms and standards as Poland successfully has been making renovations in the railway sector since 1990 and it has a good experience in operation and establishing infrastructure for freight transfer between different track gauge railways.

The forum has been very effective in resolving issues urgently, one proof of it is that Poland and Mongolia agreed to cooperate more closely in transit transportation during the meeting of the two Ministries, noted Deputy Minister Jerzy Schmidt in his presentation at the summit.
