15.8 thousand tons of meat supplied for public consumption

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Development Bank of Mongolia has eased the interest rates of loans totaling MNT 63.4 billion provided to 12 factories. Accordingly, a total of 15.8 thousand tons of raw meat has been supplied into the market for spring consumption.
Within the framework of the “First Meat and Milk Campaign”, actions to increase meat processing in the rural areas with wintering difficulties have been organized in cooperation with meat manufacturers.
The supplied meats were sold at a reasonable price. In specific, beef price was 38.2 percent cheaper than the market price with MNT 2195, while mutton price was 26.7 percent cheaper with MNT 1440 and goat meat was cheaper with MNT 245.
Meat purchases were conducted through 118 retailers in 6 district, 118 retailers in Darkhan-Uul aimag and 6 retailers in Erdenet City. Accordingly, the meat prices have been stabilized as “Khuchit Shonhor Market”, one of the main meat markets in Ulaanbaatar, is selling 1kg mutton at MNT 4100-4200, 1kg beef at MNT 5200-5400 and 1kg goat meat at MNT 3800. Presently, almost 80 percent of the provision, which is 12.3 tons of meat, have been sold.
