PM receives Chinalco delegation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On August 23, Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat received delegates of Chinalco company, the People’s Republic of China led by the company Vice President Lu Dongliang.
Vice president Lu Dongliang said that Chinalco (Aluminum Corporation of China Limited) has interest in taking part in Tavantolgoi and Oyutolgoi projects, their construction works as well as road construction and other infrastructure projects including building road from Tavan Tolgoi to the border checkpoint.
PM J.Erdenebat expressed the Government’s position to pursue a policy in future to export Tavan Tolgoi coal and Oyutolgoi copper after processing them. The PM noted that Chinalco company could participate infrastructure development and mining projects in the southern Gobi under this policy and other relevant laws and regulations.
PM asked Ambassador from the PRC to Mongolia Xing Haiming , who attended the meeting, about reasons for dramatic decrease of coal transportation passing through Gantsmod border crossing last days and the Ambassador said he would inquire the reason from relevant officials and provide the PM with detailed information.
