National forum on food security in Mongolia to be held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A national forum concerning food security in Mongolia will be held at the initiative of Kh.Battulga, President of Mongolia, on September 12.

Opening remarks will be made by Kh.Battulga at the forum, which is co-organized by the Presidential Office, the Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Mongolian Food Industry Association and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The forum’s objectives are to determine the current state of food security in Mongolia and to formulate a proposal on taking measures for providing the domestic needs with consumer foods, improving the food provision and ensuring the food security.

Ahead of the national forum, sub-meetings have been held since August with themes on solving problems to industries of meat, meat products, egg, pork and fowl and ways of solutions, and the same issues to companies of dairy products, alcoholic beverages, bottled water, oil products and pastry.
