Speaker meets Ambassador of Turkey

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the State Great Khural M.Enkhbold received Wednesday Ahmet Yazal, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Mongolia.

The sides touched upon issues of deepening the bilateral relations and cooperation and immediately tackling some problems.

Noting that the inter-parliamentary ties have been developing, the Speaker underlined improving the legal landscape for the cooperation would be impetus into making the bilateral relations more fruitful and multilateral.

Due to a current political state, high-level visit have not been organized in last two years, the Ambassador said, and emphasized the commercial and economic cooperation has not reached a satisfactory level. By this reason, the Ambassador expressed his readiness to focus attention to organizing a trip for Turkish investors to get au fait with the Mongolian business environment.

The dignitaries discussed matters on a soft-loan of USD 300 million promised by the Turkish Government, Turkish schools in Mongolia and their students, augmenting a flight frequency and capacity of the Turkish Airlines and boosting cooperation in the tourism industry.

Ahmet Yazal underlined the importance of a guarantee to be issued by the Mongolian Government dedicated to the soft-loan. When the guarantee is issued by the Mongolian Government, the countries will be able to agree on the credit term and interest, he said. The Ambassador also supported a position of the Speaker about the importance of recognizing the Mongolia-based Turkish schools’ diplomas in Turkey and protecting interests of both students and their parents.

Regarding to the flight frequency of the Turkish Airlines, the relevant bodies of the countries will hold a meeting.

The sides hope that the countries would reach a solution over the issue.

Saying that the tourism is a promising sector could be boosted between the countries, the Speaker applauded the Ambassador’s idea about establishing a tourism complex in the Orkhon Valley.
