The Secret history of the Mongols, illustrated book published in Japanese

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Secret History of the Mongols, a fully illustrated book in Japanese, has been published by the Fund for Spreading the Secret History of the Mongols to the World.
The book inauguration was held on Friday in the National Library of Mongolia. The book was translated into Japanese by Ozawa Shigeo, a renowned Mongolist and former General Secretary of the Union of Mongolian studies, and the illustration was designed by R.Battsengel, an artist and initiator of the project 'Let’s spread the Secret History of the Mongols'.
“The project started in 2008 and the Secret History of the Mongols book has been published in seven languages so far. I made illustration to the book so that reader is leaded by actions, adventures and lifestyles like watching movie. The most important thing is that the pictures in the book were drawn based on archeological findings and historic research results. In other words, picture content is added to the text. We are studying to sell the book in the Japanese market to create possibility that over 120 million Japanese read the Secret History of the Mongols” said R.Battsengel.
The Fund plans to publish The Secret History of the Mongols-Popular edition in German, French, Italian and Spanish. A historian and archeologist D.Erdenebaatar stated the illustration makes the Secret History of the Mongols more understandable and enjoying to people of all ages not only to youths.
“Most importantly, illustrations in the book are not just work of art but they are also research works, as historians’ research works were used as sources to draw the pictures," he said.
Yamamoto Keigo, chairman of the Culture and Education Department of the Embassy of Japan to Mongolia also appreciated the illustrated book, saying “Professor Ozawa spent several years to translate the Secret History of the Mongols in Japanese. The illustrated book is very useful to people, who interested in Mongolia or who have connection with Mongolia. I consider this book as a wonderful art of work, as pictures in the book harmonized perfectly with the translation by professor Ozawa,”
Previously the Secret History of the Mongols-popular edition was published in Mongolian, English, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Hungarian.
