Agriculture Minister visits France

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ From September 30 through October 6, Mongolian delegates led by P. Sergelen, Acting Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, paid a working visit to France.

The Mongolian delegation attended a regular consultative meeting of the countries' Ministries and the 26th edition of Sommet de L’Elevage, one of the largest international livestock trade shows, in Clermont-Ferrand.


In the livestock trade shows, the delegates held meetings with representatives of reproduction bio-technology and breeding organizations and enterprises to study experiences. They also met Roger Blanc, President of the trade shows and exchanged views on involving Mongolia as a partner country for 2018 trade show.


During the visit, Sergelen met Jean-Philipe Dop, Deputy Director General of Institutional Affairs and Regional Activities, OIE (World Organization for Animal Health).


At the meeting, the Acting Minister pointed out that Mongolia’s Government and Parliament give a great importance to implement OIE’s reference on developing veterinary service, protecting social health and satisfying food safety.


The sides agreed to develop a close cooperation in the sector, emphasizing an importance of OIE’s reference to achieve Mongolia’s veterinary service to international standards and make the country possible to export animals and animal-related products.
