Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar city delegates headed by Mayor S.Batbold have visited the Air Busan company in scope of an official visit to the Republic of Korea.
The Air Busan launched direct flight to Ulaanbaatar on June 24, 2016, making it regular twice a week. President of the company Tae Keun Han, First Deputy President Pan Ho Choi welcomed the delegates.

The Air Busan was established in 2007 with two airplanes and now the fleet has 23 airplanes making many international flights. While the company’s initial investment was KRW 50 billion, today it is working with income of KRW 1 trillion and has its own modern building, explained President Tae Keun Han. He noted that some company staff was employed from Mongolia and expressed the company’s readiness to support Ulaanbaatar city in all way. Tae Keun Han said that direct flight between Ulaanbaatar and Busan has sufficient passengers but it decreases much in winter and he underlined that there is possibility to develop winter tourism in collaboration with Ulaanbaatar city authorities.

Mayor S.Batbold emphasized that the company’s contribution would be significant in development of the two cities’ relations and cooperation in many sectors, increasing travelers from Ulaanbaatar to Busan and vice versa. Besides Air Busan, Mongolian national flag carrier MIAT airline makes direct flight between Ulaanbaatar and Busan, which means there are four flights in this route in a week.
The delegates also got acquainted with activities of new port of Busan city, which makes 75 per cent of total freight turnover of Busan and ranks at 6th in the country with its cargo turnover.
