National program for Healthy tooth-Healthy Child

Cavity spread among 5-6 years old children is 94 percent at the national level. This is a fact that children’s toothache is becoming one of the pressing issues in Mongolia.
On January 9, Mongolian and Japanese dentists made dental inspections and treatments of children of the 129th kindergarden.
The inspection was made within framework of a project ‘Oral health of child’ which is being realized by the Medical Exchange Society of Tokushima and Mongolia, the Mongolian Dental Professionals Association and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Head of the Medical Exchange Society Mizuho Nishino initiated the project and she is working as a project manager. The project will be implemented for 3 years and a team comprised of 3 dentists and 3 hygienists will arrive in Mongolia twice a year to make inspections and treatments of children up to six years old, the time when basic teeth infection begins and give advices on oral health to parents.
Minister of Health D.Sarangerel attended at the project activity and she got acquainted with state of oral health.
