First meeting of Information and Research Council for Technology and Innovation held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Foreign Affairs Minister D.Tsogtbaatar assigned related officials to focus special attention on regarding issues in technology, innovation in frame of policy on diversifying foreign trade, intensifying economic cooperation and varying economic structure that is heavily dependent on export of mining products.

In the context of the Minister’s initiative, an Information and Research Council for Technologies and Innovations was established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which hosted its first meeting on February 12. The Council will firstly provide information on up-to-date technologies, innovations, best international practices, foreign market and feasibilities to export goods to foreign countries that is needed for to businesses, small and medium sized enterprises by collecting it through Mongolia’s foreign diplomatic missions abroad.  

The council consists of representatives from the Ministries of Education, Culture, Science and Sports and Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the Central Bank, the Communications and Information Technology Authority, the Ulaanbaatar city’s Department of Industry and Innovation, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the Mongolian State University of Life Science, the Mongolian Foundation for Science and Technology, the Tehnoj business incubator center, the Mongolian Young Scientist Association and the SeedStars company.
