Ice festival ‘Mungulug Shagshuurga 2018’ to be held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An ice festival ‘Mungulug Shagshuurga 2018’ will be held on February 24-25 in Tumurt, Khar Us Lake, Khovd aimag with aims to create tourism products that contain special feature of western Mongolian ethnicity, to make proud of the nature and national heritage, to develop winter tourism and public sports, to contribute to local economic development through increasing number of foreign and domestic tourists in Khovd province.
In the scope of the festival various events will take place including regional junior and adult skate championships, regional championships of Uriankhai ice archery, cross country running competition, adults’ sumo wrestling competition, dancing competition and camel race. Also contests to select couples who wore beatiful national ethnic costumes, children with deel and couples with good-looking horses and camels will be held.

The festival is being co-organized by the Governor’s Office of Khovd aimag, the Environment and Tourism Office of the province, Health Office, Education and Cultural Office and office of the World Wildlife Fund in Khovd province.
