‘Beekeeping cluster of Mongolia’ startup business meeting to be held on weekends

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian Beekeeping Association and Aravt Business Cooperative NGO will host a startup business meeting ‘Beekeeping cluster of Mongolia’ this weekend and gave information on it today.
“Since 1959, the multi-layered beekeeping started in Mongolia. We breed about 16 thousand hive of bees at 50 points in Uvs, Khovd and Arkhangai aimags, producing about 250-300 thousand tons of honey. Mongolian honey plants have high pharmaceutical quality. Research works on Mongolian honey quality is ongoing. Mongolian honey has full potential to be a world-class brand. 3000 tons of fake honey in the form of liquefied syrup is imported to Mongolia. It is important for our people to buy and consume certified honey” said consultant of the Mongolian Beekeeping Association, Kh.Otgonbileg.
At the meeting the organizers will sell natural honey and employ those who are interested in working at beekeeping. Consumers will be able to get cognitive advice about honey from experts at the meeting.
“Beekeeping in Mongolia is at the household production level. We are aiming to bring it to the next level. There are nearly 600 beekeepers in Mongolia. Another goal of this meeting is to give the consumers understanding of bee products” noted Chairman of the Aravt Business Cooperative NGO, D.Boldbaatar. Consultant of the Mongolian Beekeeping Association M.Narantuya noted that beekeeping should be supported on policy level as it is an eco-friendly activity.
The meeting will take place on weekends at the Start Window LLC building.
