Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The first meeting of renewed Joint Council of public, private sector and civil society, led by Mining and Heavy Industry Minister D.Sumiyabazar, took place on March 1.

The Joint Council is responsible for organizing and supervising issues to stabilize supply and price of oil products.

During the meeting, the council discussed about present situation, supply and price of oil products and issued a recommendation. According to the recommendation, the importers of oil products were assigned to maintain the retail sales price of oil products stable in consideration of some reasons, including decrease of border price of fuel in March and Mongolian Tugrug rate tightening tendency.

Moreover, relevant organizations such as Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority, General Agency for Specialized Inspections, the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection and others were obliged to control over whether gasoline distributors satisfy stable distribution of gasoline or change prices of retail sales.

According to February 27, Mongolia had a reserve of 43-day consumption of oil products.
