Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 9, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, the Committee on Social Development of the Citizen’s representative Khural and the Education Department of Ulaanbaatar City co-organized a consultative meeting for teachers and school administrations themed ‘Role of general education school in preparing Mongolian citizen’.

At the meeting, professors of the University of Potsdam gave presentations on how Mongolia should prepare its students for the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) and new understandings of international education and introducing new types of assignments.

In the framework of the educational policy guidelines adopted by the Parliament of Mongolia, Mongolia will get its curricula approved and become internationally accredited. After that Mongolian students will start taking the PISA, which is organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in 2021.

The PISA assesses countries' compliance with the international standard and measures of general or cross-curricular competencies such as learning strategies and their students’ performances.
