Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Environment and Tourism will cooperate with the World Tourism Organization on training tourism experts and introducing standards of a tourism information center in Mongolia.

The above matters were discussed during Minister N.Tserenbat’s meeting with the  Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization during the 2018 ITB Berlin. “I expressed my intention to cooperate with the World Tourism Organization on positioning Mongolia in the regional travel itinerary along the Silk Road. I also requested equal representation of all countries on global tourism programs,” said the Minister in an interview to MONTSAME.

He also said, “During my attendance at the ITB Berlin, I was asked by German media what makes Mongolia unique.  I answered, “Mongolia is a historical and natural museum, and it has successfully maintained that state.  On your way to see archaeological remains, deer stones and petroglyphs, you will run into wild animals. You can witness a true combination of nature and history in Mongolia.” This is our advantage. We have a rich historical and cultural heritage.”

The Ministry recently held a meeting with the Tourism Department of the capital city to address the lack of cultural and entertainment exhibits to compliment sightseeing.
